Each entity in charge of your recruitment is responsible for processing personal data concerning the management of the Web site. Said processing is implemented in accordance with French Data Protection Act no. 78-17 dated January 6, 1978 concerning data processing and privacy and has been covered by previous formalities.

1. Purpose of processing and types of data collected

The personal data collected by Total S.A., as the data controller, are processed to support Total's application management and recruiting efforts. It will enable us to contact you and notify you about job vacancies or events that might interest you and may also help us manage human resources.

We can in particular collect some of your personal data for external communication purposes such as answering your requests for information and better understanding your expectations. In our on-line forms, compulsory fields are marked with an asterisk. If you do not answer the compulsory questions we will not be able to provide you with the requested service(s).

Your personal data are not subsequently processed in any manner that is incompatible with the purpose described above or in the collection forms. They are only stored for the requisite amount of time needed to fulfill these purposes.

The answers to the listed questions or the lack of answers to the optional ones will not be discriminatory from Total in the application management or recruitment processes within the Total group.  It will enable us to contact you and notify you in a relevant & personalized way.

2. Data recipients

Your personal data may be shared with any or all the Total organizations interested in your application. They are kept confidential by our internal departments and by any of our service providers or contractors involved in the recruitment process.

Your personal data may be disclosed solely to specific departments tasked with processing or subsidiaries directly or indirectly owned or to specific partners, independent distributors or sub-contractors for analysis and survey purposes.

By applying to a job vacancy or spontaneously, you agree to such personal data use. Anyway, they will not be used for any purposes than the one mentioned above.

Since the Total group’s activities are organized in more than 130 countries in the world, your Personal Data might be communicated to companies of the Group located in countries offering a level of data protection considered lower than in your home country.

In accordance with EU regulation, the Total group has adopted Binding Corporate Rules regulating the processing of Personal Data coming from the European Union. If your Data were transferred to a third party, the Total group would comply with applicable law.

3. Security and confidentiality of your data 

Total S.A. implements the appropriate measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of your personal data and in particular to prevent them from being altered, damaged or accessed by unauthorized third parties.

4. Transfers 

Because the Total group operates in more than 130 countries worldwide, your personal data may be transferred and processed in countries that do not offer the same level of personal data protection as your home country. Total has a personal data protection policy that is updated regularly. Adequate measures are taken to protect the security and confidentiality of your personal data, and especially to prevent it from being distorted, damaged or accessed by unauthorized third parties.

The Total group has adopted “Binding Corporate Rules” that govern the data personal use from the European Union.

5. Management of cookies

5.1 Principles

Statistics Cookies enable to measure the number of visits, the number of pages views, in addition to the activity of visitors on the website including their return rate.
